I had a super, super busy week, during which:
- I travelled to Nambour to attend a specialist appointment at the hospital
On Monday afternoon, my mum and I drove the three and a bit hours south to stay in beautiful Montville overnight, ready for me to attend a specialist Ear Nose and Throat appointment the next morning. I’ve had terrible sinus issues for many years and have been on a long waiting list to see the surgeon. I’m finally near the top of the list, and should be getting my surgery by the end of the year, which will make me less prone to infections, better able to breathe, and allow my immune system to function a bit better.
- My Scout Group worked a major fundraiser at the Show
Scouts are a registered charity in Australia, and all the money to run the Organisation comes from fundraising and donations. My Scout Group has run the entry ticket booths at the local Show for the last few years, and it is one of our largest fundraisers, allowing us to keep the Scout Group running.
- I finally banked my savings that I’ve been collating for the last six months
I’m generally terrible at money management – due in part to my mental illness…I just struggle to prioritise how to use and save money. But over the last six months I’ve worked hard to put aside some money, telling myself I couldn’t touch it until the 1st of June. Well, I didn’t quite make it – I banked my money and started spending it a couple of day early! But I’m proud that I managed to save what I did, and for as long as I did. My goal for the next six months is to save a similar amount of money, so I have money for Chromefest, Christmas, and moving house (if I get a job somewhere else after uni finishes).
- I took blog photos with Miss Milla Cherry, who came to visit
On Sunday, Miss Milla Cherry was in town, so we arranged to meet up at two local parks to take blog photos of new outfits. The weather was glorious – finally, properly Autumnal and crisp, with sunny skies. We first went to Alexandra Park, a 150-year-old park on the river that features its own small zoo of native animals. After a break for coffee and morning tea at one of my town’s many excellent cafes, we changed and headed to Baldwin Swamp, a natural greenway in the middle of town. We got some great photos at both locations, so keep your eyes peeled for new outfit review posts on both of our blogs in the near future!
