Time Warp Festival and Pinup Pageant

On the weekend, I travelled three hours south to attend the second annual Time Warp Festival at Palmwoods, Queensland.  Leaving home at 7:30am, I arrived at Maryborough by 9, where I met Miss Milla Cherry.  We travelled the rest of the way together, arriving at the festival just before it started, thanks to little traffic on the road.

The Festival centred around Rick’s Garage and Whiskey Bar in the main street.  A number of vendors of retro and vintage goods, jewellery and food stalls set up along the street, and the street was closed off for the duration of the festival.  A large number of classic cars and bikes were lined up down the street for people to admire and Miss Milla Cherry and I took photos with a few of them throughout the day.  We also did some shopping, picking up some nice vintage gloves, and caught up with Greta, the lovely organiser of the festival.

Miss Milla Cherry and I had both been selected as finalists for the Miss Time Warp pinup pageant, and when 2:30pm rolled around, we gathered with the seven other finalists to have our photos taken as a group in preparation for the pageant.  For the pageant itself, we each had the chance to pose and strut our stuff while a short bio was read about us.  The Time Warp pageant is committed to representing a diverse age range, body types and retro styles, and that was clear to see from the variety of ladies who were taking part this year.

Once everyone had had their turn, we had more photos taken while the four judges, including last year’s winner, and the owner of Rick’s Garage, decided on the winner.

I was pleased as punch when they announced that I had won!  Miss Fifi La Rouge, 2015’s Miss Time Warp, handed over the winner’s sash to me and I was awarded a trophy as well.

That afternoon, I helped judge the Miss Teen Time Warp pageant and hand out the trophies for best bike and car in show.  Then, as the light faded, Miss Milla Cherry and I got ready to head off home.  It was a great day out and I can’t wait to attend again next year.

For the pageant, I wore a Pinup Girl Clothing dress with accessories from Luxulite and Your One Stop Pinup Shop.
