This Week in my Life: 11-17 January 2016

I’ve had a pretty good week this week, during which:

  • I had people tramp through my flat….again

I live in a rental which is an old Queenslander house that’s been converted into two flats.  The owner is now trying to sell the house/flats, so every Saturday morning, I have to make my flat tidy and myself scarce while prospective buyers come through and see the flats.  I can’t do anything about it, but the thought that the place will get sold and that the new owners might not keep me on as a tenant is stressing me out!  I’m settled here, I like it here, I’m comfortable and happy here – I don’t want to have to move!  So fingers crossed, if the flat gets new owners they’re happy to have me as a tenant.

  • I made a discovery that might help with my scalp problem

I have the itchiest scalp, with white flakiness that is as gross to experience as it is to to read about.  For years, I’ve tried to treat it with anti dandruff shampoos, believing it was a fungal issue, as is most dandruff.  But I’ve recently been doing some reading that has led me to believe that I have what is not dandruff, but is instead a case of severe dry scalp.  What is good about this discovery is that I can now (hopefully!) treat it more accurately.  I’m keen to try this shampoo, designed for treating dry scalp issues and made using non-petroleum-based ingredients, by Aussie company Moo Goo.  For the sake of those of you out there with a similar problem, I’ll report back once I get my hands on some.

  • I saw my doctor for my quarterly mental health plan review

This is never a fun experience, but it’s a necessary one.  Every three months I see my GP for a mental health plan review, to ensure that I’m getting the right sort of support and help.  It’s an emotional experience that I don’t look forward to, but I know that I need to ensure I’m supported in battling my mental health issues.

  • I launched my January Summer Giveaway!

I’m so excited to bring you my Summer giveaway competition!  I always marvel at the little map in my stats bar that shows me where my blog’s visitors are from: Malaysia!  Slovakia!  The Philippines! The UK!  Because of the international nature of my reading audience, I decided to make this competition open to everybody around the world, and I hope to have people from a variety of countries enter into it.  The prizes have mostly been purchased by myself, although the lovely Katt from Ms Katt’s Kustom House donated a really cool retro swim cap to be one of the prizes.  The prizes include things like scarves, brooches, foam hair rollers, and jewellery.  If this giveaway is a success, I hope to hold more giveaways in the future 🙂

Prize pack one

Are you going to be entering my giveaway competition?  What sort of prizes would you like to see in the next giveaway?
