Pinup Costume – Poison Ivy

Today I put together a costume for a Halloween contest being held by Orchard Corsets, and I thought I’d share the results.

The brief was to use one of their corsets in the creation of a costume.  I decided to use my lovely leather underbust corset and pair it with my Pinup Girl Clothing Film Noir dress in green velvet, to form the basis of a Poison Ivy costume.

The corset I’m wearing is the CS-411 in leather.  It’s an underbust corset especially designed for shorter ladies (I’m 5’2″).

Last night, I used a hot glue gun to attach alligator clips to the back of a strand of fake ivy (bought at Spotlight) to create a hair accessory.  The rest of the ivy I draped over my shoulders.

I curled my hair last night using my foam bendy rollers and I left the ringlets fairly intact for this look.

My makeup included metallic green eyeshadow with a heavy black kohl eyeliner, plus metallic green lip colour.

If you have time, I’d love to have your vote for me to win on Orchard Corset’s website:

What do you think of my finished costume?  Do you have plans for a Halloween costume?
