Welcome to the third in my series of reviews of Australian products! You can find parts one and two further back on my blog.
So what are we looking at today?
Product: Kajal Eyeliner Stix
Company: Face of Australia
Purchased From: Priceline
Cost: $5.95 each
Colours: I purchased two shades: “Ra”, which is gold, and “Osiris”, which is a gold flecked black. The kajal eyeliner stix also come in purple, blue, olive and bronze.
About the Company: Face of Australia is Australian owned and intends to remain 100% Australian made, operating out of Melbourne. The company is 100% against animal testing and supports the Choose Cruelty Free campaign.
About the Product: The first thing to note about using these kajal sticks is that they are so soft. Applying them really is simple because their super silky texture means they don’t tug or drag at your eyelid, and the colour density is immediate and ideal, so you don’t have to go back over the same spot.
I applied Osiris to my upper lid in the same way that I usually apply my preferred pen eyeliner and I was surprised to find that the ease of use and great colour opacity meant the kajal performed as well as my favourite eyeliner. You can smudge the line after application if you like, but I prefer a crisp line. The photo above shows the micro-gold-flecked black Osiris applied to bare eyelids, with no mascara.
I next applied Ra to the outer half of my lower lashline. I could also definitely see myself using Ra as an upper lid liner for days when I want a bit of definition without the dramatic look of a black line.
At AU$5.95 each, these are an absolute bargain. The plastic pen base and lid mean you don’t have the mess of traditional paper-wrapped kajal, the consistency is fantastic, and the colour opacity and density is top notch. I’m planning to go back and purchase the bronze and probably the blue tomorrow, before my local pricelines sell out!
The gold flecked one looks nice 🙂

It’s got just enough tiny gold particles in it to give it a sheen in the sun 🙂

It’s amazing how cheap they are, considering how good they are!
